Oh Brother, where art thou?

I've never really liked being the oldest. I've always wished I had older siblings. Particularly an older brother, but I would've liked a sister too. It shows through in my writing. Almost any female character I've written who is around my age has an older brother. Examples:

Evangeline Amores, of my unnamed fantasy novel, aged 15, has a 17-year-old brother named Lawrence.
Jordan Burke, co-protagonist of Veridical, has an older brother named Josh. She also has an older sister, Lyndsey.
Shannon from Fat Beagles are Unattractive has a brother two years older than her called Damien.
Princess Elaine, of the as-yet-unwritten Eloquence, has a brother 20-odd years older than her, who died when she was very little. He features in the story as the narrator.
Jessalyn Vermont, a new character for a supernatural novel has an older brother, Ethan, who gets turned into a werewolf.

Funny that. Or maybe just weird.

This isn't to say I don't love my little brother. I mean look at him. Isn't he the greatest?
