So you lost your trust, and you never should have.
I took the picture of you and me out of my wallet today. It made me sad that I felt I needed to do that, but what's the point of it being the only picture in my wallet if you're not my friend anymore?
There, I said it. It hurts me to say it, but unfortunately it's true. So I'm going to stop trying now. I've learned that some friendships aren't meant to last forever. And some are made to last for eternity. For you and me ... I think it's the former. I wish you understood the heartache you've caused me; the pain I feel from this loss of a relationship. You just don't know. You might not ever know.
And even though that's what it is, I still love you. If you ever suddenly remember the friendship we had and feel like talking to me again, I'm still here. Because really, I am still your friend. I just don't think you realize that anymore.

Amazing? I think not....
Guess what! I finally have another review for you!
So I saw Avatar today. Everyone was saying how amazing it was. I already knew it wasn't going to be, so I didn't have very high expectations, and I was right. After stuffing around with this trainee guy to get our tickets, we got our 3-rows-from-the-front seats and settled in for 2 and a half hours of trees, copters and weird blue zebra-cat-people. I watched a third of the movie with my 3D glasses off; after the novelty of the 'spectacular visual effects' wore off, the first half of the film was relatively boring. It picked up a little bit when the actions scenes got going, but the thin plot really let the film down. It was predictable and pretty pointless (ooh, an alliteration ^_^).
The actors are all right though. Sigourney Weaver and Sam Worthington are good. Giovanni Ribisi is even better. If only he was in it more.... I love him so much. Michelle Rodriguez is in it too, but unfortunately her role is not as useful as it could have been. I can't really say much about the blue people ... I, er ... have no idea who they are.
Anyway, the movie went on for too long, the plot being spread thinly over 2 and a half hours. Worth a watch on the big screen I guess, but certainly not worth the $17 I paid. And I don't think the 3D was all that necessary. No random visuals jumping out at you, and the film was brighter without them on.
All in all, I give it 3 stars out of 5.

Oh Brother, where art thou?
I've never really liked being the oldest. I've always wished I had older siblings. Particularly an older brother, but I would've liked a sister too. It shows through in my writing. Almost any female character I've written who is around my age has an older brother. Examples:
Evangeline Amores, of my unnamed fantasy novel, aged 15, has a 17-year-old brother named Lawrence.
Jordan Burke, co-protagonist of Veridical, has an older brother named Josh. She also has an older sister, Lyndsey.
Shannon from Fat Beagles are Unattractive has a brother two years older than her called Damien.
Princess Elaine, of the as-yet-unwritten Eloquence, has a brother 20-odd years older than her, who died when she was very little. He features in the story as the narrator.
Jessalyn Vermont, a new character for a supernatural novel has an older brother, Ethan, who gets turned into a werewolf.
Funny that. Or maybe just weird.
This isn't to say I don't love my little brother. I mean look at him. Isn't he the greatest?

Mmm... turkey....
Merry Christmas. I scored good this year. I hope you did too. I got F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby ... wait for it .... in leather. I asked for hardback. I got something even better. Isn't it just gorgeous?
Yum. I also got this absolutely splendiferous t-shirt that I didn't think I was going to get. Thanks Mom. It's pretty epic. I love it. I wore it to church today and scared a couple of people. Dan and Dan both thought it was cool though.
WIN. Have a lovely rest of your Christmas. And remember today isn't really about presents, it's about presence. Give praise to God for his gift to us, his son Jesus. We really don't deserve him. :)

Peter, I'm sorry, but I must grow up....
I just had another Peter Pan moment. I was walking down the street not long ago and saw a little boy and girl playing in their backyard. They had a bunch of chairs out forming a circle and they were standing on the chairs with swords in their hands and tea towels tied around their heads. Pirates, of course. I really miss doing that.
Wendy: My unfulfilled ambition is to write a great novel in three parts about my adventures.
Aunt Millicent: What adventures?
Wendy: I've yet to have them, but they will be perfectly thrilling.
I'm convinced that there was point in my life where I was in Neverland. But that feels like a terribly long time ago now. And quite unfortunately, it's a little late to go back.

*hugs*
I made a fanpage on facebook for hugs from behind. It is unanimous that hugs from behind around the waist are the best hugs in the world. And one of my best friends gives them to me all the time. So that's pretty swell.
I'll be home for Christmas
I just made a mad rush to the metro to get pineapple for dinner. We're having hamburgers and prawns on the BBQ so I needed pineapple to go with it. The metro was insane; I was weaving in and out between crowds of people, trying not to get run over by overloaded trolleys. Got my pineapple and came rushing back out, all in 25 minutes. Top time, I reckon. There was a huge line coming out the liquor store. I thought that was a little funny. :)
Come, let us adore him!
I love hearing talks about Jesus' birth. Mary and Joseph have got to be some of the most righteous, heroic people to have ever lived. I wish a had a time machine to go back to the birth of Christ. That would just be awesome.
I really feel like it's his birthday tomorrow. Because it is. Or at least, it's the day we celebrate it. How cool! I'm glad to be a part of my King's birthday celebration. Tonight is the Christmas eve service at church. Here's part of the true story of Christmas. It creates a shiver of delight down my spine because it's so, so amazing. Like. Wow.
Praise God and celebrate this miracle!
22All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"[d]—which means, "God with us."
24When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

The Birth of Jesus Christ
18This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. 19Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. 20But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[c] because he will save his people from their sins."22All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"[d]—which means, "God with us."
24When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
I'm late, I'm late, I'm very very late....!
This movie .... wow. It's gonna be awesome. It's gonna be epic in 3D. It's gonna be twisted and dark, and disturbed, and brilliant.... Well. Let's just say it's gonna be one hell of a ride. I can't wait.
Ron, just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon doesn't mean we all have.
Loving Harry Potter fan art. It's the coolest. Here's some more for you, the first being another one of Moony, Padfoot and Prongs because I like those. Most of these are by an artist called De Gerre. Awesome huh?
He shall be called "Immanuel" meaning 'God with us'.
This is one of my favorite Christmas carols. And seeing as it's Christmas Eve, I thought I'd post some of the lyrics for you. I'm actually listening to Michael Buble Christmas music at the moment, but I prefer Jars of Clay. Mom is making pumpkin pie. Yum. I've wrapped all my family's Christmas gifts. Katherine loves the t-shirt I gave her. And yeah. Feels like Christmas. My brother just shoved pastry dough in my mouth. It's a bit gross when it's not cooked.
God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember, Christ, our Saviour
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Satan's power
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
In Bethlehem, in Israel,
This blessed Babe was born
And laid within a manger
Upon this blessed morn
The which His Mother Mary
Did nothing take in scorn
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
From God our Heavenly Father
A blessed Angel came;
And unto certain Shepherds
Brought tidings of the same:
How that in Bethlehem was born
The Son of God by Name.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy

Why, oh why, oh why?
What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.
By any other name would smell as sweet.

It's you that I hold on to. That's what I'll do.
I have nice-smelling friends. Sometimes I wish when I left my friends I could take a little bottle of their scent with me and keep in on a shelf as a keepsake. A lovely memory. I know it sounds weird.

2010!
It's a cool number. It's gonna be a cool year. I'm looking forward to Twenty-Ten. Yes that's how you say it, not Two-thousand-and-ten. That's just silly. It's not like we called 1910 One-thousand-nine-hundred-and-ten. So it's Twenty-ten, ok? Okay. : )
All righty, here's my list of cool things that should be happening to me in Twenty-ten unless God changes my plans. And he has every right to do so. But anyway, the countdown:
1. LiT! It's a Christian camp. The full name being Leaders in Training. I've been twice already and thanks be to God I got invited back again! It's gonna be pretty swell. Here's a pic to show the awesomeness that is LiT. *excitement*
2. I GOT INTO TAFE!!! Huzzah. Doing a digital media course for 6 months. Should be epic. If all goes well in the course it will set me up for the next three years of my life, which makes it all the more epic.
3. Alice and Wonderland. I turn 17 about the time the film comes out, so I'm taking a bunch of my favorite people to see it at IMAX. Woo hoo!
4. I have plans to get more ear-piercings with Katherine. Only our parents are being a little less than enthusiastic about it at the moment. But we'll bring 'em round, won't we hun? Hehehe. The hope is to get them done in the incredibly new future, possibly even before 2010 so that Katherine has enough time to take them out for when she starts school again. We have some convincing to do....
5. I finished NIDA. It all went wonderfully. We couldn't have had a better performance, and all my besties came to support me :) What joy. So yeah, NIDA's over, so that's a bit sad, but now I have the middle of my Sundays back so I get to hang around after church and enjoy people's company. We're going to NBC now which is ... new. But I think I like it. I've only been twice so far. Anyway, with getting back my Sundays comes rejoining the youth group band, and they want me back! I wasn't sure they would, but they do. So I get to play distortion again. Yay!
6. Trip to the USA! 'Nuff said, basically. It's gonna be fun.
Anyway there's more, like KYCK and SOC (praying that they'll be much more fun than this year), and other cool movies like Scott Pilgrim and Iron Man 2, and friends turning 18 and other ages less important (although there's probably a 21st in there somewhere that I'm forgetting about...), and more coolio stuff, but my mom just brought me this brilliant sandwich so I'm signing out to eat it. Ta ta for now.

Worst. Movie. Ever.
Saw New Moon today with Kristen, Naomi and Justin. I was astounded at how horrendously boring it was. Seriously.... Worst. Movie. Ever. I can't believe I had expectations of it being better than Twilight. I was reduced to staring at Taylor Lautner's abs and biceps (not normally like me) because it was either that or a moody Kristen Stewart playing the selfish cow that is Bella, or Robert Pattinson's stupidly fake golden Edward-eyes and his pale, ugly, glitter-glue face. Yeah it was an EPIC FAIL.
I could continue to rant but it is late and I have been talking about this awful excuse for a film all day. If you'd like to read an entertaining rant/review on New Moon, go to my friend Kristen's blog, which is just below my archives under 'Other Cool Blogs". It's the one titled "Brain Loading, Please Wait".
So I wasted a lot of money, but I still had a good day, cuz it was my first free day after finishing my epically annoying assignment on Rebel Without a Cause. Good film, annoying essay.
So yeah.
