... make things perfect again.
And I can't find satisfaction anywhere else. I hope I never stray from you again and look elsewhere ... because I know I'll never find anything better than what you have to offer.

The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still. ~ Exodus 14:14
Started reading the bible from beginning to end. So far at Exodus 34, with twelve days of reading. Also been looking up biblical baby names; I love some of the ones that aren't so common, like Hezekiah and Jaroah. I want to name my son Ananias. ♥
"We do a lot of improv here. Just stay loose, have fun - you'll be fine!"
So I've just had an amazingly huge weekend, which is finally slowing down....
On holidays now after TAFE finished on Friday. Headed off to the cinema that night to see TOY STORY 3!
Seriously Amazing movie. A perfect way to close the Toy Story epic. It was so beautiful, and it couldn't have been better. It had everything I wanted and was everything I had hoped it to be. And, I admit, I cried at the end... They're my favorite movies okay???
Saturday was the most insane... it was a 17-hour day and I went from one thing to the next! Got up at 7 for work, took Juliette to basketball, who played mind games with me all morning; raced from her place to Officeworks to print Katherine's gift, ducked home for some lunch (which I didn't end up having), jumped in the car with mum to get it laminated, then went to Katherine's place to wish her happy birthday and give her the picture. After that I managed to squeeze in time for a haircut, then got back home to hurriedly get ready for the performance that night. Made it to the hall at 5, started the performance at 7:30, finished at 8:30 with no dramas, and then bolted back over to Petersham for the FEVA Black Tie dinner. Helped out there, still wearing my costume (it was Medieval themed too, thankfully!). Got a ride home and in bed asleep by midnight. Pretty awesome day.
This morning Beth and I took Katherine out breakfast at Cafe C. Lovely time, and way too much food! Amazing pineapple and orange juice too. And good company. Love those girls.
Then there was church, band practice and youth group, then I watched Masterchef and hung more stuff of my walls, and crashed whilst reading Exodus last night. Lovely weekend.

come back and look for me, look for me when I am lost
This lack of facebook thing is really impacting on the amount of blog posts I have this month. I might possibly make more blog posts than there are days in June if I keep going like this!
Went to TAFE today to hand in my second-last assignment. Class runs til 12:15 but I left after only twenty minutes, since my video was complete and rendered. Happy me, happy teacher.
Going out to Birkenhead point outlet with Mum to return the suitcases we bought because we found some better ones. Also going to look for new walking shoes, a carry-on bag and sunglasses for the trip. Only 3 weeks to go on Thursday. I'm so ridiculously excited that I got on the Disneyland website the other night and watched teasers for the rides, which were made in like the 90's and look a little lame but it got me bouncing up and down in glee nonetheless.
On another note, I have a birthday present for Kristen (in my mind...) but Jessie and Katherine's birthdays are also only days away ... and I have no idea what to get them! If you're reading this, darlings (and I know Jessie is!), what would you like?
Want to write more but Mum is dragging me out the door right now, so I guess I'll just make another blog post later! Tata. :)

all the things we wish we knew
“I've been making a list of the things they don't teach you at school. They don't teach you how to love somebody. They don't teach you how to be famous. They don't teach you how to be rich or how to be poor. They don't teach you how to walk away from someone you don't love any longer. They don't teach you how to know what's going on in someone else's mind. They don't teach you what to say to someone who's dying. They don't teach you anything worth knowing.” ~ Neil Gaiman

Oh love, don't let me go.
There are so many things that just don't make sense.
I don't understand how I can be ridiculously happy one minute and crying the next.
I don't understand how I can be insanely excited about something and highly distressed about another thing happening on the very same day.
It just doesn't seem right.
How can life change so much in just 365 days? How can people who mean the world to you one moment just slip away the next? I don't understand how someone who wanted to spend every moment with you can't seem to find a minute to spare anymore; how people you shared a part of your soul with fade away as you go separate ways; how people stop asking you how you are because it's become inconvenient; how people you pour your heart out for don't share their own heart; how people can you erase you from their lives because it's easier than dealing with the things that made it difficult; how people let go of the things they say they'd always hold on to.
Every person who has come into my life, changed me and left again has taken a part of my soul with them. Most of them have made me a better person, but it hurts to let go.
Please don't go. Stay with me. You mean more to me than you could ever know.

lost and found
Hello! My this day has gone quickly. It's almost three already.
I plan to try and keep up this writing-big-chunks thing until I leave for my trip so that I can keep on successfully blogging while I'm away. I don't want to stop writing to you all while I am away, and I fear that the thousands of pictures I take will be battling my words for a place on this blog, so I will work my hardest to keep it balanced. Writing now with no pictures should help this.
I'm looking forward to blogging about my trip; I'll try my best to keep you informed on all the things I see and smell and taste and touch and hear, because I'll miss you a lot while I'm gone so if I keep this blog updated as often as possible with the things I do I feel like I'll be taking you readers with me. All 9 of you, or something....
So, I just got back from church and before that I was at Kristen's for a sleepover. The three of us watched The Great Race (fantastically hilarious movie) and talked about a billion things until 3 a.m. I love long, meaningful conversations like that and I find that the later it is the more honest you can be with one another, which is a good thing when you're close friends. By the time we decided it was time to go to sleep I was past the point of being tired and it took me a little while to fall asleep. We woke up at half past 9 - kind of a fail since I then only had twenty minutes to get ready before they came.
Made it to church on time (just). The speaker today was really good, I forget his name but he had the most beautiful deep and he spoke on the parable of the lost son who was found. I love this parable so much because I have heard it many times but each speaker has their own take on it so I get a new insight on it each time.
And yeah not much else to blog about ... looked for sunglasses today but didn't find any. Hope to do some reading or other writing of some kind before I have to leave at four for band practice. Tata for now.

What is this?
I envy people who can make magic with words. I don't envy the people who use big words, or the people who write in poetic voices with frilly language; no, it's the people who can put simple words such as 'tomorrow' and 'lips' and 'excuses' and 'friends' and create a sentence that just fills the mouth and flows off the tongue in a way that makes you wonder how they did it in English.
I think my love of imagery has taken over the writerly side of my brain. I am finding myself using pictures, or even other people's words to express myself and it seems that I more often than not lose the balance of images and text in my blog posts; I'm barely writing any fiction anymore and it hurts to say that because I feel like I've lost a part of my soul. Maybe it will come back; I don't know where it went or why it left, and maybe it's still in there and will appear again if I try to draw it out. It might be difficult and it might draw blood as well but that's why I'm writing this post right now, to try and bring the words out of myself without thinking. I'm just writing right now, not pondering what word to put next or stopping to backspace a sentence, or even checking for typos (I'll go back and fix them at the end). I'm waiting for something interesting to come into my brain that might make this blog a little more interesting for the reader ... I'm sorry if you find this boring and really, you don't have to read it, but it appears here so that I might find the part of myself that is missing. Perhaps you're helping me look if you're reading this.
It feels quite nice, looking at the post and seeing all the words cuddled up close to each other again. It feels like taking a loaf of bread and sitting on a part bench and tossing crumbs onto the sidewalk so the pigeons gather. All these little black letters piling onto the page look so cozy and it's making me feel warm again. I'm lying on my bed in my brand new red jacket with the cat sleeping on a folded sheet beside me. The heater is off and the lights are low so this room is actually quite chilly, but when I don't think about it too much I don't notice it.
We've just returned from Rockdale plaza ... is that what it's called? The word 'plaza' just popped into my head so I'm guessing that must be correct, but I've forgotten now. We bought new suitcases for Justin and I to use for our trip. They're bigger than anything we've ever had to put belongings in, which makes them sound huge I suppose but they're aren't really. Mine is gray and Justin's is blue. More exciting than the suitcases was the jacket and shirt I got for twenty-three dollars; very happy about them. And they're very comfy too. I had to put them on the second we got in the door of course, so I'm wearing them now and looking forward to going out again so that I can wearing my read Converse with my red jacket. I find it very exciting to be able to wear the same color top and shoes together in one outfit. I don't know if anyone else finds it quite as thrilling as I do but because it actually doesn't happen as often as I'd like it brings extra happiness when it does. I'm not sure if 'happiness' is really the right word to put there; it makes me sound materialistic, like I can be satisfied by a jacket and some shoes. Not really.
Speaking of satisfying things, I've begun reading the bible from start to finish, in hopes that I can complete one read-through of the epic before I go to Year 13 in a year and half's time. It's been three days and I've read 26 chapters of Genesis so I think that's a good start. I'm writing down the questions I have as I go. Don't you think it curious that the bible never mentions what happened to the Garden of Eden? I'd certainly like to know what happened to it. When did it get destroyed? When did the angel leave the gates? What happened to the tree inside? Did it wither away and die or did God just get rid of it? Did humans destroy it? Did someone cut it down like George Washington and the cherry tree? These are all the sorts of questions that have come into my head so far, and there are many more. I'm finally getting around to physically writing the list of 'Thing to ask God when I get to heaven." I wonder if I'll ever get answers to them.
It's a terrible thought to think how long it's been since I've written a great chunk like this straight out, without adding any pictures or any other kind of imagery to this blog. I think I like it like that. Even though I feel horrible about not writing like this in so long, it is wonderfully satisfying to be doing so now. I just hope that I do it again very soon. I swear, it's feeding my soul right now, and even though I'm on the computer staring at a screen I'm getting the feeling that after I stop writing the blog my headache will have gone away. It's lessening already.
I'm going over to Kristen's house to sleepover tonight with her and Keira. I'm looking forward to it immensely but I'm a little disappointed about missing the trivia night at my church tonight, but I think I've made a better decision about which one to go to because Kristy is leaving the country very soon and it has been ever so long since I've spent time with Kristen and Keira together.
I really need to read more. I was reading Jessie's blog the other day and she's absolutely right when she says that not reading good literature lessens writing as well. At least, I think she said something like that. My brain is a little fuzzy at this present time. But really it's been so long since I've read the whole of any good book and I'm utterly hopeless about keeping track of what I'm reading and what I want to read. I have a massive mental list of all the books I want to read ... at least, I did, but they all seem to slip out of my mind quicker than I can read them. I've been spending too much time doing homework and too much time on facebook to read anything good ... but TAFE is nearly over now and I have blocked my facebook so if I can somehow compile a list of good books to read then I might be able to start making a dent said list. I can think of a few things now, and it seems appropriate to list them so I may as well go ahead while I've got them on my mind.
Firstly, I want to read more Terry Pratchett. That's the book I'm reading at the moment - Going Postal by Terry Pratchett. I've read very little of it but what I've read I really like, so I need to keep ging with it and hopefully get my hands on a copy of his first book in the Discworld series, and begin working my way slowly through those.
I also know I need to read some Jasper Fforde. My friends have been begging my to read his work and my friends are always right when it comes to books so I really ought to stop putting it off and listen to them.
After we get back from holidays I think I'm going to do the Great Books 2 uni course so I'll need to read those books too. From memory the list is Anna Karenina, Antony and Cleopatra, Wuthering Heights, and two others that have escaped me.... I do like Shakespeare and I did start reading Wuthering Heights so those two shouldn't be too difficult to get through. Anna Karenina on the other hand....
Continuing on, I want to read:

few things awaken my soul quite the way travelling does...
Celebration! This post is number 22 for June, meaning it's the most posts I've EVER had in one month! Which is quite an achievements considering there are still twelve days left for posting...!
So anyway, I'm sitting in my fourth-last TAFE class for the year. It's a good feeling. Just a couple of assignments left and then I'm free!
Very much looking forward to the trip, and the couple weeks before it of busyness and nothingness together. I'm going to go shoe shopping, and write my books and screenplays and prepare the bible study; I'm going to play guitar and go out to breakfast with my friends, buy pretty nail polish, get new sunglasses, have a sleepover, play a duet (or two), get some birthday gifts, read the bible, send a package, pack my bags and get on the plane.
27 days to go. :)

"Honesty is never seen sitting astride the fence."
Well I just jumped off the fence and followed Honesty into the dark wood. But I think there's a light in the heart of the forest.
10 seconds of fame for you
So I just submitted my magazine design for TAFE. It looks something like this.
For those of you that know of Picture Poetry's existence, there's a bigger, better version of it there. Hmm. I didn't really ask Justin or Katherine permission to use their pictures for the cover but I don't think they'll mind :)

yeah just because.
You know me. I almost never do any posts on anything about gorgeous boys. So here we go, here's some eye candy just for fun.
Jamie Bell.
Or you may know him as Billy Elliot. But seriously, who couldn't love this boy?
Guy Berryman, Coldplay's bassist. Yeah so ... they're my favorite band. I had to say which one I thought was cutest.
Sam Worthington. I don't really like many of the movies he's been in ... but hey, it's worth it when you see one of his rare but cute little smiles.
Jake Gyllenhaal. Yummy. And what a smile.
Chace Crawford. I don't care what anyone says, I think his eyes (and that smile) are amazing!
Robert Downey Jr. This man is cool. And classy. And good-looking. Not to mention he's Ironman. How can you not love him?
And finally, Ewan Mcgregor. Oh my gosh. LOVE. Give me any movie with him and you will have me hooked. As you can see, I chose pictures with my favorite hairstyle of his. It's a bit Tintin and a bit cute. :)

because you matter to me, but do I matter to you?
And now it's gone. It's gone, it's gone, it's gone ... and nobody seems to care but me.
Or maybe I'm just the only person that's going to do something about it.

oh we don't notice any time pass ... we don't notice anything....
La la la, long weekend.
So we helped the Deligiorgakis's move on Saturday. It all happened amazingly fast and neat! Well done everyone.
Sunday and Monday were awesome. 25 hours of The Katherine and Justin Show, 4 movies, 3 milkshakes, 2 a.m bedtime, 1 tricycle, and way too much food. Good weekend? I think so.
I'll start with moving day.
Got the Deli's at about 8, and the truck arrived right after. Spent a good portion of the morning sorting out all Karen's books with Beth and trying to figure out a solution to the books-to-shelf-space ratio problem we appeared to be having.
Oh, and enjoying their new living room rug:
These three promptly dove upon it the second it got laid down, to make sure they got to test it before they coffee table was put in place. I think the new rug has their approval.
I can't remember why Justin put his hand over Beth's mouth ... might've been trying to stop her talking while I took the picture....
Anyway. While Beth and I sorted the books on one shelf Justin and Katherine busied themselves attempting to put all the DVD's onto the other shelf. They didn't think it out very logically. Ended up putting ALL of them on the shelf and then took them ALL off again to sort them alphabetically. Silly kiddies.
And yeah. Arrived home that evening and watched Old Dogs with the family. Low expectations = hilariously funny film. That's how it's done.
Moving onto Sunday and Monday, I shall begin with a detailed account of the food us three persons (Justin, Katherine, and myself) consumed over the space of the 25 hours we were together. It was quite epic.
At 5pm on Sunday Katherine and her parents arrived at our house for dinner. Dinner consisted of:
Dinner was followed afterward by:
At 10 a.m that morning I made French toast with maple syrup, and for lunch we had hot chips with ketchup. Yes that's right, Heinz tomato ketchup. Not tomato sauce. Munched on some apples during more Little Big Planet. Thoroughly enjoyed the array of vegetation and cheese mother produced later that afternoon when Katherine and I were snuggled on my bed watching Julie and Julia. Not that great a film, really.
Speaking of films, we watched 4 in the 25 hours and I wanted to give a short review on each, in the order we watched them.
9 was the first film we watched. 80 minutes wasted, in my opinion. I had hoped it would be better. Had wanted to see it for a long while; it seemed kind of interesting but the plot was lame and rather pointless. Long story short (or should I say, short story in a nutshell), the little sack creature 9 wakes up in a post apocalyptic, clockpunk world and goes searching for others. He meets 2, and 2 gets captured by a mechanical beast. 9 is discovered by 5, who takes him to meet all the others. 1 is the leader of the group and leads in fear, so he basically sucks at being a leader. 9 and 5 defy him and go to try and rescue 2. Upon rescuing him with the help of 7 who kills the beast, 2 is killed by a second, larger beast that 9 awakens. Got all that?
*SPOILER FOLLOWS*
The entire rest of the film involves most of the characters being killed off by this beast. 1 and 7 eventually destroy it and free all the souls of their dead friends from the belly of the monster. I had expected their friends to come back to life but instead their souls float up to heaven. The film ends with 7 saying, 'They're free now.' Fade out. Bor-ing. Don't watch it.
The second film was The Island. I quite liked this one. Appreciated the cinematography and the general mood of the movie. I can't say much about the plot because it gives away the movie, but it's essentially a sci-fi thriller starring Ewan McGregor (LOVE) and Scarlett Johansson (HATE).
Basically in this movie Ewan McGregor, named Lincoln 6-Echo, questions his safe, enclosed environment to the point of annoying the antagonist enough that he wants to kill him. That sounds dumb but you have to see the movie, okay?!
Scarlett Johansson plays the best friend turned love interest ... yeah I know, I don't like her either.
BUT Ewan McGregor saves the world, so that's why you should see it.
Third film of the night was Psycho. Do I need to explain this one? It's Alfred Hitchcock! Very famous, very clever, and very creepy. Grab some friends and go watch it.
Final film was Julie and Julia. Meh. I mean, it was a film about food. So I wanted a bit more 'wow' factor when it came to the dishes that were incorporated into the actual plot. I also felt a bit like Julie Powell's mother concerning Julie's blog - 'No one cares!' It was a bit boring. I think Katherine fell asleep at one point. It wasn't a bad movie, just not my kind of film. Especially after watching movies such as The Island and Psycho, it was a bit bland. But Meryl Streep was good, if you like Meryl Streep.
Anyway, back to Monday. After lunch we had an epic time doing the kind of stuff we Stanmore kids do on a regular basis, of course, such as...
Taking the Ford Anglia for a spin
Driving a bus
And doing crazy stunts
As you do. Yep, just a typical day in the life of me. :)

At 5pm on Sunday Katherine and her parents arrived at our house for dinner. Dinner consisted of:
- A huge salad of lettuce, cucumber, capsicum, carrots, tomatoes and feta cheese
- A choice of both beef and lamb (we all had both, of course)
- Cooked veggies - potatoes, pumpkin, eggplant and capsicum
Dinner was followed afterward by:
- Milk and chocolate chip cookies from Aldi, eaten in the duration of the movie 9
- Popcorn - popped sometime in the middle of The Island
- Strawberry and chocolate milkshakes, made by me halfway through The Island
- Sour lollipops - given to us by Jackie, and sucked on whilst playing Little Big Planet
- Peanut butter slathered heavily on thick-cut bread - consumed at about 1am during Psycho - apparently too thickly for Katherine's liking!
